Crusader, Kingdom of Jerusalem: silver dirham (2.31g), 'Akka (Acre) mint, 1251 CE. Crusader imitation of Islamic dirhams from the Ayyubid dynasty, inscribed on both sides in Arabic. Cross in the center; around within square "Allah wahid huwa al-iman wahid al-ma'mudiya wahida" (God is one, faith is one, baptism is one); mint and date in margin / In center "al-ab wa'l-ibn wa'l-ruh al-qudus ilahun wahid" (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one God); around in margin "lahu al-majd ila abad al-abidin amin amin" (to Him is the glory forever and ever, amen, amen). CCS 15. Some marginal weakness, otherwise an attractive example of this elusive type, extremely fine. Rare.
