Sicily: William II (1166-1189), gold multiple tari (1.70g), Messina, AH 575 (1179-1180 CE). William cited with title al-Musta'izz. 5 pellets in the shape of a cross in obverse center, inner margin "al-malik ghulyalim al-thani al-musta'izz" (the King William the Second, the one who seeks glory), Arabic legend in outer margin / Cross flanked by IC-XC NI-KA in reverse center, Arabic legends around. Fantastic example with clearly legible date. Extremely fine.
