Abbasid: al-Ma'mun (810-833), silver dirham (2.94g), al-Basra mint, AH 199 (814-815 CE). Citing vizier Dhu al-Ri'asatayn. Rare. Purely Abbasid issue. This dirham was probably struck in the first few months of AH 199 as in the same year the city of al-Basra came under the control of the rebel al-Asfar al-Fatimi, who also minted dirhams in al-Basra in the same year.
