Umayyad: Yazid II (720-724) to Hisham (724-743), silver dirham (2.82g), al-Andalus (Spain) mint, AH 105 (723-724 CE). Early post-reform issue from Islamic Spain in Damascene style. Klat 118. Extremely fine. Rare. Dirhams of AH 105 in al-Andalus were first struck in the style of Dimashq (Damascus) dirhams, and then some time later in the same year they switched to the Wasit style, which persisted for all dirhams of the rest of the Umayyad period in al-Andalus. The earlier Dimashq style is rarer than the Wasit style.
